Jagraon sits on the western side of Ludhiana district, about 40 km from Ludhiana city, and many of its families have relatives in Canada, the UK and the USA. That makes airport runs a regular part of life, and the new Halwara airport has changed the options for this town.
Quick answer: From Jagraon, Halwara (HWR) is the nearest airport, because it lies on the Jagraon side of Ludhiana, and it has Air India flights to Delhi only. For international flights you will still go to Delhi, Amritsar or Chandigarh. We confirm a fixed fare on WhatsApp within about 10 minutes.
Your airport options from Jagraon
| Airport | Best for | From Jagraon |
|---|---|---|
| Halwara (HWR) | Air India flights to Delhi | Shortest drive; WhatsApp us for the exact figure |
| Amritsar (ATQ) | Direct UK and Gulf flights | About 3 hours |
| Chandigarh (IXC) | Some Gulf and domestic routes | About 2.5 to 3 hours |
| Delhi IGI | Widest range of international flights | Long drive of 5 to 6 hours |
Journey times are approximate and change with traffic and fog. Halwara is about 32 km from Ludhiana city, and we have not published a fixed Jagraon figure, so please ask us for the exact distance and fare for your pickup point.
Is Halwara useful for you?
Halwara currently has Air India flights to Delhi and no international flights. If your onward flight leaves from Delhi, flying Halwara to Delhi and connecting there can save you the long road journey, and the terminal is small and easy. A new winter timetable starts on 25 October 2026, so check current flight times before you plan. Our Halwara airport guide, the winter schedule post and the Ludhiana to Halwara taxi guide explain flights and pickup timing.
If your airline flies direct from Amritsar, a road trip there may still make more sense. The which airport for Punjab guide compares all four.
Driving to Delhi
Many Malwa travellers drive to Delhi IGI. Our published sedan fare from Delhi IGI to Ludhiana is ₹5,200 one-way, toll and state tax extra, and the Jagraon fare is confirmed separately on WhatsApp. See the Delhi airport to Ludhiana taxi page and the Malwa cities to Delhi airport guide. For a 3 am Delhi flight, leave the evening before or start in the late evening, and allow a buffer in winter fog.
The Roshni Mela
Jagraon is well known for the Roshni Mela, a fair held each year in the Punjabi month of Phagan, around February to March, over about three days. It centres on a dargah where devotees light earthen lamps, and visitors come from across Punjab and neighbouring states. Dates follow the lunar calendar, so confirm them locally. Expect crowds and slow roads around the town during the fair, and book a taxi early if you need to travel then.
Weddings and family travel
Jagraon families often need several cars for weddings and ceremonies. We can send a fleet with a coordinator and match cars to different flight arrivals. See the wedding fleet page, or the Ludhiana taxi service page for city trips.
Coming home from abroad
For arrivals, we track your flight and wait with a name board. The first 2 hours of delay are free, which helps after a long flight. The driver helps with luggage. See NRI airport pickup for the process.
